Well, after looking at the final ballot, there are mostly adults on the list. Maybe 1 or 2 kids. That's really the only unfair thing about this: the kids never really have a chance.

Well what about us teens? Where do we stand?

Did I write kids? I meant to write teens.
Anyway, even with all the awesome teen builders (Fed, Andreas, Sven Junga, *cough cough "me" cough*, getting past the judges and winning an award is just really hard to do.
For instance, if I went up against Mark Kelso, Chris Phipson, Nannan Z, Brian K, do you honestly think people would choose me over one of these guys? Well, nevermind Phipson....it's Mark Kelso with his Inviisble Hands and Rusty Ferrets you gotta watch out for....

I did. And his Invisible Hand.....disappoints me. It's too short in the scale that he did it in, and the Invisible Hand has 2, not 3, engines. Plus, EVERYONE forgets a very crucial piece: the TRUE command bridge!

Actually, it does have 3 engines. For some reason, the guys the designed BF2 only gave it two, in the movie it had 3.

I saw the movie, and I only saw 2.

Whatever, doesnt matter. My point is none of us teens would stand a chance against an AFOL.....although, Kelso's insanity may eventually lead to his downfall...and Brian K? He's already lost his marbles. (If he ever had them)

Dear Mr. Salad... Can't believe I just typed that... anyway, the MOCie awards were open to EVERYBODY to nominate whoever they wanted to. EVERY builder on mocpages had the same chance as anyone else to be both nominated and win in any category. Last year, I chose the nominees myself and got a little flak for it. Granted, I was just having fun at the time and really didn't think that it would evolve into what it has this year.

That all being said however, there is another ray of hope for the younger builders for next year. Kelso and I have been discussing the logistics of this so nothing is concrete yet but, we came up with an idea.

Next year, anyone who won a MOCie award CANNOT be nominated in that same category again for the 2010 awards. So, for example, let's say that Kelso wins this year for sci-fi, he'd better start building some castle if he wants to win next year. Like I said, this is just a starting point and there are some other details we're working out but we're both in agreement that something needs to be done so it's not the same people over and over again every year winning the awards.

I hope this is going to help keep the awards new and exciting each year. In the mean time, GET THOSE VOTES IN!

Thanks everyone,
~Chris.
and P.S. the Invisible Hand had 3 main engines and Mark didn't forget the main bridge. HAHAHA

Ah. Thank you for clarifying, Phip-O. Now about Kelso's Invisible Hand...how do we know it's even there? It's invisible. I'm telling ya....that Kelso is bonkers.....Ferrets can't be Rusty, and we don't even know if his hand is even there. Just one of life's many mysteries, i guess.....

It's about time we started talking smack about Kelso. He's been getting a free pass these last few years. His Invisible Hand stinks beacaue he committed the crucial error of not detailing the bottom and his Rusty Ferret stinks beacuse... well it just has odour problemss.
