What does a 'purist' mean im not in to lego speak.

A purist is someone who does not modify LEGO or use non-LEGO pieces, such as BrickArms. Saber Scorpion (http://www.saber-scorpion.com/) is NOT a purist, he cuts his LEGO, uses BrickArms and violates many other Purist rules.

Take a look around Saber Scorp's website. They are minifig guns made by a private company, of which I don't know the name. BTW, Hey Zylo!

Hi guys, nice contest you're having here :)
Can I give you a bit of advice?
No?
It doesn't matter, I'll give it anyway.
When starting a big event like this, it's better to start a "private" group first, where you invite the judges and discuss policies and rules. It's also a good thing to decide in advance what to do if you get more and less players than you expect.
Once you're done, open the contest as "private", and make sure everything is ready and clear before opening it to everyone and starting inviting people.

Of couse, this has already started, so this advice will only be good for next time, but all the same, I may have something for you to use right now:

For goodness' sake, DO NOT change the rules in mid-game!
Every exception you make will give room to drama and open the door to further exceptions, making a mess of your contest.
I mean, look at what happened to the MOC Olympics when a Judge turned soft! Round 1 was turned into a circus. (and we're still sorting out the mess!)

Also, if you check the MOC Olympics there's a "scores" topic. The lower half are people who didn't make it to R2 and may be happy to join here :)

Have fun!

Yuri, i think you should participate if your not to busy that is?

I'm far too busy.
To tell you the truth, at first impact this felt very much like a rushed attempt at copying the MOC Olympics, but then I though "why not?"
It's a very good way to have more fun: the two events are not clashing, it gives an additional chance for those who were left out the Olympics to compete in a big, organized contest (including the eliminated) and it's a perfect way for younger MOCpagers to learn to put together an event.
I'm all for it.
If you wish, once we're done with the MOC Olympics R2 brackets, I can see if I have some categories to propose for your contest.
I'm afraid this is all I can offer for now, but if you guys need advice, feel free to ask http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/8336

Hey Swift, would it be OK if you only had four days to build and post? Because if I moved the start date to tomorrow (much more convenient for me, as tomorrows a weekend) you would still have four days to post and build, and if not we could extend your deadline two days. Sound OK?

For some reason, I posted the puns yesterday, but they never came on. Oh well, here it goes again.

Puns:

1)What did the road say to the earthquake?
"You crack me up."

2)What did the eggplant say to the corn?
"Your jokes are WAY to corny."

3)Johnny is asked by his teacher to present his report. Johnny says "I saw to dogs. One ran into the other on and hit him right in the butt. It almost knocked them off the cliff!"
And the teacher says "Oh, Johnny. We don't say 'butt'. We say 'rectum'."
And Johnny says "Wrecked 'em? It darn near killed!"

4)The priest of a church is looking for a bell ringer. Then an armless man comes up to him and says "I can ring your bell!" and the priest says "No you can't! You don't have arms!" and the armless man says "Oh yeah? Watch this!" and starts slapping his face against the bell and is making beautiful music. When he wants to finish his song with on last note, he flings himself at the bell, but misses, and falls. He hits the ground and a crowd of villagers forms saying "Who is this guy?" and the priest walks up to the man and says "I don't know, but his face sure rings a bell."
