As a result of a miscount we ran in to a small issue with the number of contestants. As it turns out, we sent Lee a list of 7 players who had all scored 15 to judge, with 3 players being chosen to move on to fill out the top 64. Those 3 players were told that they would be moving on to round 2. A recount showed that we now had 65 players instead of 64. This is NO fault of Lee's so don't blame him. The judges and I spent the better part of about 4 hours last night discussing this issue and how it could be resolved.
5 out of the 6 judges agreed that this solution is the way to go and the fairest to those players involved. You three players that were told you were advancing to round 2 (Anthony Dunne, Joe P. and Lea Khan) WILL be advancing to round 2 and competing in the match.
You three will face each other in a triple threat elimination match. Winner take all and moving on to round 3. The other two will be eliminated as normal. This was the fairest way that the judges could agree on to make our mistake right. Our other choice was to simple eliminate one of you on our own, but being as you had already been told that you were advancing, that idea didn't sit right with us. Imagine being given a Birthday gift, opening it, loving it and then being told you had to give it back because it wasn't meant for you. That's how we felt when it came to this. This way, the three of you that were told you were advancing WILL advance AND it won't mess up the brackets for later rounds.
