very simple,
write this code on your page :

<a href=http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/12864>2010 MocOlympics</a>

and I advise to ALSO write this code :

<a href=http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/12746>greatest person ever</a>

:p

(just copy and paste)
btw, you shouldn't ask questions in this tread and I shouldn't be answering here actually :o

let me guess;

Mister Bones coming out of the floor ?
not original, has been done so many times,

oh wait, Mister Bones being part of a villian group that also has clone kiddies in it might be the issue

oh well, it's probably the less exiting story...
Mister Bones being objective and decides the vignette is quite poor

My god, what is going ON with MocPages? Most likely due to the server change, me and a handful of others scattered across the 'Pages are unable to upload photos because of some bug.

As I will not have access to a computer on most of Friday as well as Saturday, this may cause me to drop out if the bug is not resolved by then.

However, if anyone even remotely cares, I'll be uploading my entry to flickr instead if push comes to shove.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Topsy, hopefully you can get the item loaded, but if you cannot and you load it to Flicker, let us know, follow the same rules and post your flicker link in the entries category. I, for one, am inclined to allow that as I do not want to see a drop out because of the pages.

You can upload the pics to Flickr if you wish, but the entry won't be valid until it's on MOCpages. The issues that we're having with the server upgrade will be fixed long before the due time for round one.

If there's still a problem uploading on Sunday night, get in touch with me and we can try to figure something out.

I had the same issue, but found out if you shrink the size of the photo (like say from full-quality to large) it uploads no problem. I did this by sending the pictures as an email to myself, and then saving them to the desktop.

I'm procrastinating. I have NO idea what to do for "It floats". Yeah, I know that there are millions of ideas I could do, but it would probably be DQd if it doesn't have to do with a boat and I am NOT big on making boats. So don't be surprised if I don't make an entry at all.

I actually didn't buy anything specific for the contest, but had spent about £15 on some pick-a-brick from Shop at home for another contest, and some of that got used in my R1 entry. With the nature of the categories, who knows what might be udeful for next round?

I'm on a fairly tight budget for an AFOL - my kids and summer vacations took up all my spare cash this month, and next month is no-go too - my TV broke down and I had to get a replacement (now that's worth whinging about!). My next spends will probably be Series 2 minifigs in September.

You would be right, BUT I tacked my PAB parts onto a larger order for my neice's christmas present (one of the creator house sets)so this time it didn't make much difference AND I got the VIP points. Oh yeah.

I never seem to stumble across cheap or free second-hand stuff. I've got one or two friends who have promised me their old stuff which is sat in an attic, but everything in our family gets passed onto kids as everyone thinks I can afford my own! Is it okay to whine about the vagueness of the rules instead of my score specifically? Because the one score I did get was just Chris being an arsewad.

You spent the entire post talking about how you KNEW that LDD wasn't allowed but you were just going to spit in my face and do it anyway. Thanks for the show of respect. Now... who's being the A-wad again? Perhaps a look in the mirror would be approriate at this point. At least I GAVE it a score which in turn gives you a chance with the other judges.

Let me put it this way. LDD is a great tool for designing a build, I'll never take that away from anyone HOWEVER, it is NOT Lego. Lego is a piece of plastic that you can hold in your hand. This contest is for Lego. Seems pretty clear to me.

MAYBE if you hadn't known about it then we could have thought about working something out. As it stands, you tried to make a statement and be cool by doing it anyway. Well Mr. Rebel, now you get a score of 0 from me. Good luck.

Ok, so I went on this really hot date the other night with these twins Ė man was it awesome. And naughty doesnít even begin to describe the experience. Well, ok, it was a virtual date, but that is the same isnít it?

Well, maybe not. So how about this one then? I have this modded out BMW M3, turbo, nitrous, the works. 1,000HP at the crank. So letís race for pinks ok? Well, again, mine is virtual, and in a video game. But it still counts right?

Virtual is fun for fantasy, but letís keep Lego in the real world. It was certainly around long before personal computing was anything more than science fiction. No digital construct can compare with actually putting the bricks together for real. Wait for your first date, then you will know what I am talking about ;-)

LDD is cool,
a bit too cool, meaning it's cold,
you can turn your creations around and all but it doesn't give you the warmth of a real lego brick,
I think a lot of mocers feel this way,
It would suprise me if there was anyone who prefered the LDD file over the real creation.

Don't forget,
one brick in real is better than 10.000 in LDD

(btw, if there really is someone here preferring virtual lego, let's trade then, your real lego for my virtual lego, as much as you want ;) )

As a former CAD draughtsman I can certainly see the appeal of playing with a virtual Lego set - if I had come out of my dark ages when I was still drawing every day then I probably would have got into LDD pretty quickly, maybe even bypassed the real bricks.

As somebody with both storage and financial considerations to take into account, I can REALLY see the appeal of limitless bricks/ colours/ creation sizes and having it all there at the push of a button (It takes me 20-30 minutes just to put away my bricks when I build, so that my daughter doesn't find them and start eating them).

I can appreciate the artistic merit involved in a virtual creation, you've still used your imagination and presented it well.

But it's not Lego. It stated in the rules that LDD entries were not allowed, and the tone of your entry read like a massive giving of the finger to the judges.

You and me both, on all the above points! (Except my toddler's a boy...) Actually I've fiddled a bit with LDD but it's just not the same as actually handling the bricks, nor do you get an object you can display at the end. So I'm with the judges on this one, too.

Now that has to be one of the wittiest comments I have heard in this contest to date. Well said young man.

However, no it is not an offer. Furthermore, I am not a surgeon so it is not "Mr." (British use "Mr." for surgeons); I am a medical doctor, therefore, it is Dr. Jones, or Lee if you prefer.

Lee

EKO, first off calm down. Getting angry won't help anything. Secondly, I don't think comparing this contest to another is a very fair thing, as, they are different contests with different judges with different rules. Thirdly, changing your name won't help anything as well, it will just tick people off.

My advice: Calm down, and go participate in a side event ;)

Would you like some cheese with that whine? God help me for saying this, but Flare is right. The Mob rule was a completely different contest with an unrelated judging and elimination process. Mostly, though he's right about your name; stop changing it. It makes you look like a spoiled little whiner.~H

Last I checked, what you intend to do in order to gain sympathy is exactly the opposite of the word honor.

And in case you weren't aware, it is in fact common for competitors with the highest scores to advance onto the next round. It's kind of the whole point. Complaining about won't do any good, so stop!

By the way, learn how to type. Mere words of the mortal realm cannot describe the pain I went through when reading your comment.

Who told you you had till today to post? The end of the round was Sunday night. There were a couple of mocs that we allowed a BRIEF extension to based on MOCpages not letting people upload mocs... Now, I've been out of the loop for a day or so here sooo... who told you that today was ok?

Yes, a SLIGHT extension was given to people having MOCpages issues. However, you found out on Monday that your page wasn't there and waited until today to bring this issue to our attention. I'm sorry but it's too far past the date to allow. You can still have fun in the side events though! Follow the link to Yuri's group and have fun! Thanks.

I think what they're all so upset about is that there was no need for him to withdraw. He scored below 15, and therefore would not advance either way. They see his declaration as an attempt to gain sympathy.

As Flare. so humbly mentioned above me, close to anyone can type. And if you can't handle someone not taking pity on you, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THE INTERNET?

And no, actually, I couldn't care less about how you feel. I could, however, dislike someone for dropping out of a contest by writing a long, useless comment about how and why you're going to drop out. If you're so insensitive, then why didn't you simply remove your name from the Sign-up thread and leave it at that.

That's all I'll have to say on the matter

I must also add that what is the point of declaring that you drop out, and making a big fuss about it, when you KNOW that you will be out anyways? I mean, its totally pointless and just makes you look like a big baby.
