So here is our newest contest...
First of all were doing it a little differently, we will have 3 judges: Aaron B./Thomas N./and General Hyuuna.

The subjects are..... comics, mech, or small vignette.

The rules:
The judges will be judging on May 2nd. That gives you a month to get stuff going, al creations must be posted before this date though. After a little conversation with Samuel D. I decided to work it a little different. They're will be 3 winners (1 for each category), so the judges will pick their favorites in each category.

To sign up, put a link to your creation below. On May 2nd the judges will pick the one they think is the best, and I'll step in for a tiebreaker if needed.

Rewards

1st: Moderator, creation will be the group picture, link on the main page of the group, you know the usual.Of course you will be given full bragging privileges to brag about your winnings...

And thats it, so get to it!!!

Hey Dylan B, with the utmost respect, I don't believe having a single competition with 3 totally different genres will work very well, in terms of the judging.

Naturally, no matter how fair a judge is, there will always be some small amount of bias toward MOCs of a particular type.
For example, say someone submits a mech, and someone else submits a vignette. Even if both of the MOCs are equally matched in terms of building skills, innovation, concept, and presentation etc, one will tend to be chosen over the other as the 'better' MOC. My point is, it is very difficult to compare different genres with each other, with the viewpoint of which is better. It justs adds an extra dimension to the already complicated judging process, which should preferably be avoided.

If the aim of this contest is to decide which is the best MOC that has been submitted, it's impossible to do this completely fairly, when you have MOCs from three different genres.

My suggestion is to split the competition into three parts within the one main part. In my opinion, the comics in particular need separating, as creating a comic uses a completely different skill set than building a stand alone MOC.

Of course, you're the administrator, so the ball is in your court, but it's definitely something to consider in the future...

Best wishes to everyone who's thinking of entering!

(on a side note, I'm submitting this ; vignette for the contest.)

If they all pick different ones for winners, then I'll but in and pick the best of the three...

You have made your point across quite well, but on terms of the contest, I had my moderators do the work in choosing the subject, they couldn't agree on which ones to place as the subject of the competition. So they put all three into it to be fair. But I'm not agreeing with it either. I'll think of a way to change it up a little to make it work in a few days... Remember this is the first time we are doing this whole judge thing, so It may take a few changes to work well.

Sounds good, Dylan! Of course it will take a while to get the rules finalised etc... everything does. :) By the way, I know how hard it can be to run/moderate a group, and just wanted to say I appreciate the effort you guys go into to keep it running!

So, are the judges going to judge this competition, now that it's May 2nd?? Just curious... since it seems like everyone else has forgotten it even existed!

Alright judges, sorry it has been a little late, but you guys go on and begin judging. Post who you would like to win here, and we will get this done with.
