The Isle - Chapter One. Beginnings.
 Group admin
((All of the existing Character Bin characters are now arriving at the island. If yours is in, congratulations. Playing begins NAO! :D

Characters who come in later will have to see where they can be squeezed in by talking to me ))

Captain Brahik rubbed his sea-rusted mask, dislodging a barnacle. He had just set off from the Northern Continent.
*More immigrants ridin the old girl,* he thought. *At least they're paying well.* He patted the pouch of widgets at his belt and turned the ship's wheel. Motors beneath his feet slid into place and fired, boosting the ship from its walking-pace.

He could hear them talking again, below. Not the words, though. So many strange accents, wierd stories... and his hearing wasn't up to much in the first place. There was a turaga with them this time though. That was odd. *That Phir...something fellow... what's his story? Turaga never come to the Isle of Thorns.*
There were matoran with him, of course. He was probably telling them more rattled old stories of wherever he came from. And then there were matoran with him. Four of them had had to give up their weapons for the journey. He looked down at the box beneath his control panel. Guns, most of them. He shook his head.

After a while, the Isle of Poliaz came into view. He could see the trade-boats crowding its port from here. *Home,* he thought. *Home sweet home..* but they passed Poliaz, moving on to its neightbour.

Koromar, named the Isle of Thorns by most. Brahik rubbed his mask again, and made towards the port...

The matoran inside looked out of the windows as the boat entered Lake Silgarn. Forested hills and sandy banks encircled them, and, dead ahead, was the town of Carekik. Smoke rose into the sky from dozens of chimneys.

The Gukko entered the port, and several dockhands came up to meet the captain. His cargo of flax was unloaded, and the matoran which had been sleeping on it during the night stepped out onto the wooden pier. The air smelt of fish and boat fuel.

After a while, The Gukko trudged away again. Captain Brahik kicked the empty weapons crate underneath the control panel. Looking back, he saw the glimmer of that claw-like one in the hand of an orange matoran as the sun caught it.

[Petrov]

*They told me it was dangerous down here, but did listen –oh no- ! They told me I would lose my way, but did listen –oh no- !* The matoran of sonics roamed the never-ending/ever-twisting tunnels deep in the Shadow-caves. He heard something scuttle in the distance…

After a while of fruitless searching for an exit he spotted something gleaming under a small boulder. “Well hello what’s this?” he said to himself. Petrov reached his hand out towards it and at the instant he touched it he felt a wild surge of energy pulse through-out his whole body!

“WHOOOOAAA!!!”

He felt a strange tingling feeling as blinding light left his eyes, when he stared down at himself he found he had… ‘Changed’. The small stone he had touched was now depleted of its power and he saw it was a fragment of a toa stone…

((Just made a V2 of the BARON, he now is mostly black, gear armor, and has a switch blade on his Robo-Arm :D))

The Matoran walked, silently, along the wall of thorns that bordered most of the Isle of Thorns. He looked weary, but in a sense of mind, not body. No, his body was anything but. He was bulky, with long arms, strong and mighty. Of course, this wasn't the thing the few people who saw him thought of at first glance. Their eyes always fell on the weary Motorans arm. The left one.

That is because this one was made of metal, attached to his shoulder by artifical means. *If only that day hadn't happened,* he thought, nearing his destination. And then he did.

Suddenly, it appeared as if he had fallen to his side, the way he slipped so quickly into the forest on his right.

"Well, another day, another Adventure," the BARON said, perking up at the sight of his hideaway home.

Ferrum sat on the loading docks, checking over the crates he had brought with him for damage or tampering. *Good. If any one had had the bright idea to stick any electrified tool in or on this box, there wouldn't be an island for miles that didn't see the resulting explosion.* He came to a large protosteel box with a key pad in place of a handle. Typing in the code, he took a step to the side as the wall fell toward the spot he had previously been occupying. The other walls fell and slid into the base. Standing in place of the box was a NX 14 prototype 'Enforcer'. The hunch backed machine was was just slightly taller than a matoran. It had been built out of old vaki parts and scrap metal, but he had polished it and given it a paint job to make it look nicer. it was still a work in progress, but he would be shipping it off to Xia to be mass produced when he was done with it. it was armed with a smoke grenade launcher and a double barreled stunner. *There won't be any problem with thieves while your around* He activated it, watching as life returned to the dormant machine. It stood their for a moment as it warmed up. Green status lights blinked on its arm readout. The machine straightened and snapped off a crisp salute.
"NX14 standing by for orders."
Ferrum patted the machine's head, which responded by synthesizing a low purr. "Come on we have work to do." He grabbed one of the boxes and trudged after the others.

"Ahh, Home Sweet Fortress," The BARON said to himself as he deactivated his array of defence systems, and entered his Base. It really was a fortress, just a small hill with an opening, that contained a wide assortment of weapons, electronic and organic, so no EMP field would help.

"Easy Girl, easy, It's only me!" he said as the 300lb wolf-like creature licked her master's face. "Okay, here's your dinner," he said drawing out a large, and very dead bird out of his rucksack. The beast quickly consumed it.

"Now, for the fun part." And it was definitely the fun part. Sorting through the last scavenging trips' spoils.

*Laser scope, junk, OOh i could use that, junk* he though as he took each itme and examined it with his metallic eye.

"Heh, well, this is just a Stone!" he said throwing a small, oval rock to his side. "Man, i'm gonna have to get the eye cheched out, it's not working, OOoo maybe that laser scope..."

A warm, orange light filled the cavern Petrov was standing in. He looked around to see a silver-armoured figure with glowing patches all across her body. An aura of orange light seemed to be following her, too, and she carried a sword and shield.

On seeing Petrov, there was a sound like a small thunderclap and her aura blew away.
"Matoran," she said with a concerned air. "Why are you down here?"

stareing at his hands Petrov answered,
"I believe-" he paused here to let his arm fall once again to his side while he looked up to her eyes, "-Matoran is no longer the word for it" he withdrew the guitar from a pack on his back -- it too had changed. he held it by the neck as though an axe, "Let us remove ourselves from this place... It urks me" he suddered.

And so arose he, neither toa nor matoran, Petrov the Demi-toa.

"Might as well get things rolling." The BARON had just finished his sorting and was about to start the day's tasks. First, off to check the progress of his latest investment, a new shipment of tech.

*Ugh, i hate this part* he thought to himself as he started out the door. *Why can't i just skip it, go to the city, maybe cause some truble.* Then it hit him. *Wait, I'm the boss of this opperation! I can just go do what i want, when i want to!*

And with that he set off out the door, making sure to get his cape to cover his arm first. "This is going to be a GREAT day!"

She backed away, the cavern sloping backwards. Her mask glowed before she entered the water flooding the caverns beyond.

"Ah, to be in one's native element," the BARON said to himself, admirering the dirty, barren streets of Carekik. He had grown up here, the pit of the isle, where poverty and crime ruled, of course, not hand in hand.

The major industries here were illegal shipping or being a bartender, where, more than likely, illegal shipping took place.

The BARON was meandering toward one of his favorite bars at the moment, it had no name, only a sign with an ironicly cheery 'Welcome!' on it.

He walked in, sat himself down, ordered a drink, and kept his head low. *Now to wait for the fun to arrive* he thought, snickering at what he might find. Maybe an old "buddy" wanting his dues, or some rowdy punks just asking for it.

What he didn't expect was a group of Motoran to come walking in. *New faces, must be lost. The entrance to the city isn't far.* He ducked his head down a bit farther, and tried not to be noticed. *The last thing I need is some new friends to talk to. New 'friends' always lead to new enemies, too.*

"Well, that was interesting..." The knocked out Matoran, a common thief named Takorak, was being dragged out of the main room to be stitched up. Takorak was known for his...yeah, just plain pychosis at times. His warning probably meant nothing, but it was something that made the BARON shiver, none the less.

He was just walking out when he saw the strange Turaga across the street stare at him. He met his gaze. He smirked at the Turaga, as if saying to him; tauntingly, "What can you do?" Of course, the BARON was asking himself the same thing, *What can he do...*

The sonics weren't needed. A tentacle wrapped itself around Puhana's neck and her body flashed violently as her body became starved of oxygen. Another ja'kat swam up behind her and wrapped its tentacle-like mouthparts around her face, draining her energ with countless poisonous barbs which dug into her protodermic armour. Her mask cracked, and there was a blue flash as it was swallowed and destroyed by the repulsive creature. The flashing stopped, and she fell still...

The BARON had gotten back to his hideout by dark. He still had that strange Turaga on his mind. Not for his safty's sake, no. He had taken down Dark Hunters with ease. "No, he knows something about me, something...almost like he was there..." He trailed off into the memories of his past. To that day.

((EEE!! BARON past-ness! hey Kai! My plan is to have the BARON and Phirset know each other from teh past, like on Metru Nui, before the Catacylism, and then a big fire or earthquakey disastor shears off the BARON's arm, losing him a friend.

Eventually Phirset was leading a large armoured group, heading straight for the Irenta’s cave...

((Ok guys, thought I would get the story moving along. Remember Phirset cannot control others he can only hear their thoughts and see through their eyes, I would appreciate it if someone took over the search party and continued the hunt for the Irenta, they are trying to kill the Irenta and plan to take it back to gain the trust of the villagers. Turaga Phirset knows where the Irenta is and is leading the group at the moment. Have fun!))

[Ferrum] "NX-14, watch the gear." He sprinted after the group, catching up with the Turaga. He held his rifle at the ready with a dagger in his other hand. "So turaga... Whats the plan? Attack a creature, wounded and angry, on its home turf? Seems a little fool hardy. I like it."

The BARON shivered. That day he had lost his friend, Kirset, to a massive fire in the Onu-Metru Archives. It was caused by a Fire Entity, that dragged Kirset into a deep crack in the floor caused by the fire.

*Many years have passed, and yet I cannot get over Kirset, nor can I get rid of the thought i could have saved him... This Turaga must know something about it. Something...maybe about Kirset...I need to find him...*

The BARON's hideout had only three entrances/exits, each gaurded with it's own unique protection system. The North Gate was the northernmost gate, with a large cat-rahi protecting it. But the BARON soon learned it had kittens and so the gate has no current organic guard...

...Until the BARON looked at the screen, that is. The camera was hidden in a rock some 5 meters inside of the cave, and sleeping some 5 INCHES away was a wounded Irenta.

The pitable Rahi sat and waited, but did not expect what happened next. She heard a swoosh, like a door opening, and a sudden blast of air. Then she felt a collar being clicked into plac by unseen hands.

"You serve me now," a voice calmly spoke. The bear felt a light stroking of her fur, and, strangly, she enjoyed it. Usually she would have twisted around and mauled the Motoran, even with her injury, but it was something about the collar that made her resist...~

From his treetop view he could see the Motoran had left the old Turaga in the back. *Good that means I might have a bit of fun on this little adventure. "Hello down there! Weary Travellers!" He shouted in a very pleasent voice that still scared the whole group to shivers.

"Well, i just recently caught it sneaking around my lair, so yeah!"

The beast lumbered, painfully out of the cave, favouring its bleeding arm. Her mouth was still stained with black blood, from the wound, and the yellowish fluid from the eel she had stolen. She bared her silver teeth at the matoran and her back-spikes rose and clattered alarmingly as a low, echoing growl reverberated inside her throat.

She stopped behind the BARON and eyed the matoran with large glowing, green eyes, blocking the setting sun from view and casting the matoran into shadow.

"You see, this is now my property. People who try to take and/or hurt my property get a word from me. And usually a bit more." He said the last part with his blade unsheathing. The group gasped.

[Ferrum] There was a laugh as a bolt of blue energy lanced forward, striking the Barron in the chest, knocking him cold. ferrum stepped from the group and blew the smoke from the cooling barrel of his Peace Maker. When the Irenta bear charged, he side stepped the creature, hooking his hand into the collar, flung up onto its back by momentum alone.

Ferrum's joyride had ripped several holes in his armour as the Irenta's back spikes cut him, and black blood leaked slowly where he lay.

The Irenta roared, batting a native matoran down with a gigantic, razor-sharp paw. The woman fall back in pieces, dying and unconscious. She lumbered forwards towards Solaris - and then suddenly jerked backwards, caught in the Virrok's talons.

Virrok span and twisted in the air, rattling its metallic wings before dropping the Irenta heavily into a thicket of dense trees, which uprooted and splintered under her weight, but the bear quickly righted herself again, throwing one of the broken trunks in anger. it missed Virrok, and crashed to earth a hair's breadth from Phirset's face in a plume of earth and dust.

Virrok circled in the air above...

The Collar, an invention of one of the BARONs friends, is essentially an IV bag that pumps chemicals into the Irenta's, or anything's, bloodstream. The chemicals are a secret mix of natural herbs and synthetic chemicals made to bend the will and improve the body's reactions ((think of illeagal drugs and adrenaline together)).

The Virrok was still circling overhead from it's last attack. The Irenta ws trying to decide it's next victim, and the BARON was technically unconscous from the Peace Maker. He still had his Robotic Third Eye on so the battle was still being recorded in his memory banks. He was essentially dreaming what was happening.

He was now seeing the Irenta make a move for the Turaga.
Now he saw the Virrok come to defend the Turaga.
Now other Motoran were trying to get at it from the back.
Now he saw the one who shot him down trying to get a clear shot.
Now he saw a flash of blue lighting fly out into the sky, and dazzingly explode.
Now he heard a voice.

(( The BARON is a cyborg, so he has software literally IN his brain. Think of Windows 8667. The *[ ]* will denotate his CPU talking to him))

*[Rebooting. Rebooting. Calculating damage levels. Right arm at critical levels. Overall damage: 56%. Functioning equipment: 76%.]*
He let out a moan. He still couldn't move his organic body. He tried to get up with his exoskeletin only and fell.
*[Caution: Operating at 47% power. Rebooting. Approxamate time: 2 hours, 45 minutes, 31 seconds.]*
The BARON sighed. *XXXX*

((BARON stuff))

((Dude, that post was pretty awesome tbh. Good writing skills there (^-^)-b ))

Strange, new thoughts raced through the Irenta's frenzied mind, filling her vision with red mist. The matoran before her babbled and shouted in their harsh, meaningless words, shaking weapons and tools, and another burst of pain shot through her damaged shoulder.

Her massive, armoured bulk rose up in front of Phirset, blocking out the sun. The Irenta bared her fangs and raised her massive, sword-like claws and got ready to pulverise him...

...but something stopped her. Phirset's gaze locked firmly into hers and the outside world went silent, and slowed to be almost motionless, the matoran moving as if through thick grey treacle instead of air. Phirset's glowing eyes were the centre of a motionless vortex...

Above the tree tops Phirset’s Virrok silently flew away...

Waves of humour echoed from the Irenta's mind, putting Phirset into sudden anxiety. What was so funny? The Irenta was so wounded... and another lance of chaos eched through, ripping the Irenta's mind apart like tearing parchment. Its eyes flickered out, and a great, heavy paw flew sideways into Phirset's side.

The turaga found himself sailing through the air until he hit the trunk of a closeby tree, full-on, leaving a crack in the wood, before sliding down with pain lancing through his entire body.

The bear went mad, destroying everything. Two more natives died under its paws, and the rest fled, firing weapons as they did so. Arrows, bullets and bolts thudded into the Irenta's chest and arms but it did not notice. One pierced its eye, and it roared in pain before striking heavily at a large tree, beating chunks of wood out of the trunk until it toppled.

In his pain-blurred vision, Phirset could see a sudden dark, shadowy prescence within the bear's mind. One he had encountered before.

A makuta.

FLASH! A bolt of lightning lashed out at the sea beneath terribly close to bokor's ship. Bokor was a determined to reach metru-nui to deliever his cargo of a special spice used to preserve dead matoran/toa, it was only known to be found in the fiery regions of voya-nui. The specially crafted sail creaked as huge waves bombarded the ship, soaking the top deck. Bokor wondered how much more of this storm the ship can take..

((OMG!! Mukuta-rifficness!))

The BARON, still 'unconscous' as he was, was having a terribly violent dream. Not a bad dream, it was actually kind of cool for him, being the Baron of Crime and whatnot makes you sort of used to destruction and death.

The Irenta ws thrashing about, chasing after the group of Motoran, leaving the Turaga behind, kneeling now from his apparently tiring ordeal with the bear.

The scene the bear left was not a pretty one; trees bent over, corpses riddling the ground, a great many of similarily unconscous victims lining the slim treeline with many wounds and lasserations of extreme worry.

*Just another day, I guess. Not as expected, but another day. Ugh, why must i ALWAYS be so eager to put myself in danger. Unprotected i might add.*

((BARON, how do you feel about the BARON having used Antidermis as one of the chemicals in that collar? He has unknowingly let a makuta into the island by using Antidermis in his experiments. Huh? Huh? :D ))

The shadowy prescence Phirset saw entered the dreaming, comatose eyes of the BARON. A large, ominous pair of red, glowing eyes filled his vision and the voice rattled his soul, filling his head.
*I believe I have YOU to thank for this, Baron.*
A tree shattered into splinters across the rapidly growing clearing.
*Without your placing part of me into that collar, I would never have been freed.*
Razors swished, and the sound of a matoran's dying screams pierced tha air.
*Without that lovely, greedy, power-hungry spark of yours I would still be trapped in Odina. But you had me stolen for your own ends.*
The sound of Ferrum's gun firing zoomed towards the Irenta's roars, and then the sound of burning and smell of smoke as the Irenta dodged and it hit a tree behind.
*You may notice that your Antidermis supply is now gone. Do not worry. You will not survive long enough to reclaim it, anyway,"BARON".*

The massive bulk of the Irenta rose over the recumbent form of the BARON. Shadows danced around its empty eyes.

*You are no use to Obsidiakh now.*

*Oh, XXXX, I hate those Makuta, don't pay their dues AND kill people.*
"In...Initi...ate...Distortion...F…field"

The BARON barely had time to activate his Light Distortion Field; essentially an invisibility cloak, but less effective. In the dark, however, it was enough.

The Makuta, lacking the thermal vision needed to see the BARON, was now agitated by the lack of target and furiously roared. Then, the Turaga suddenly came from out of the sky! Wielding his staff he jumped down toward the lumbering beast.

*Good luck fighting THAT. *

And he did have good luck, or perhaps, just skill. From his staff came a concentrated beam of light; night became day for a second. The Makuta/Irenta recoiled in agony.

*Hmm, I'll have to make that. Light concentrated through the super compression of the…(insert Smart Talk here ;D)*

The Makuta was not down for long. It came towards the Turaga and roared out a terrifying scream. The Turaga held firm. He tried his beam again but the blast was not as powerful, and he did little damage to the Makuta.

*Wait! I think I know how to stop it! If it came through the Antidermis in the collar, and the Makuta is IN the Antidermis, the most likely place it would go would be the brain. A well placed head-shot might just kill it. Or release it from the Irenta, in which case there is a small chance it would live. I don't think anyone has this knowledge. XXXX it! Why must the helpless be the only ones helpful!*

The Makuta was advancing on the very helpless Turaga. He appeared either to be lecturing him, or deciding which limb he would eat first. Then he appeared to decide on a limb.

*If I yell out to the Turaga, that being said I can, I blow my cover and I get killed. Where'd that one with the big gun go? No time, no time…*
"HEY!!"

((Note that I'm not saying Ferrum has poor aim, he just has a sort of RPG weapon atm. Can be dodged.))
Another shot from Ferrum seared past the Irenta, who jumped back heavily to dodge it as the charge set the other side of the clearing on fire. Lighting struck somewhere in the trees and heavy rain suddenly pelted down on them.

The bear's dodge brought it directly into range of Solaris' gun. Bullets broke its eyes and ripped into its skull. It froze, and then toppled to the ground in a pile of scrap metal, red flames and acrid black smoke pouring out from its armour. The air was filled with the stench of burning oil and flesh.

It was dead. Phirset surveyed the scene, ignoring the crackling pain in his chest and back. Ferrum was injured, as was the mechancial matoran who had accosted his friends. Ten natives were dead and the entire clearing they were in was burning. The smoke filled his mouth and made him cough wretchedly. Lighting struck again close by.

Bokor's eyes cracked open, revealing, close-up, the worried face of an Onu-Matoran covered in a rather soiled model of the Pakari Nuva Onua wore. His face quickly withdrew, with a lopsided smile on it.
"Took ye long enough to wake up." he said, his voice gruff, yet friendly. Bokor took in his surroundings: a small house, with various charts and notes over the walls written in hasty Matoran-Script. The floor was dirty with soil, and several tools were propped up against the far wall. Bokor was lying on the only bed in the room. The sheets smelled faintly of earth and root vegetables.

He sat there for a few minutes. Then a being came between him and the fire, casting him in an even darker shadow.

*[Status: Systems operating at sufficient levels. Warning: Right arm still at 24% damage.]*
"Ohh...Mu..ha...(random muttering)"
*XXXX, what. What happened!? The Irenta! The Makuta!*

The BARON's eyes opened, wide and confused. He shot upright, breathing heavily. He looked about franticly, just to see where he was. He was lying down on a bed made of straw and in one-room hut about 10-feet in diameter. A window was by the bed and he looked out it.

*Sunlight. That means the battle is over. The only logical thing that happened is that those Motoran carried me here. Well, the South Gate isn't far. I'll just-*
"Good morning."

He whipped around, arm-blade now unsheathed and pointed in towards the Turaga's face. He had obviously been sitting there the whole time.

"Now just put that thing away, you know that it would not be beneficial to either of us to have me killed."
"No. I suppose it wouldn't…"

He flipped his blade back into place. He let out a long sigh and laid gently back down.

*My main objective is still to find out what he knows. Maybe a lighter touch will prove a devastating blow.*
"So. That Makuta thing inhabited the Irenta. One of the guys shot it in the face. I passed out, so to speak, that is definitely not what, but it's hard to explain what happened so we'll leave it at that."

He positioned himself on the edge of the bed and looked straight in the old Turaga's eyes.

"Then what."

The Turaga answered in a calm tone, like an elderly man with a sweet heart would.

"We argued on what to do with you. Most wanted you dead. Some thought of compassion and wanted to bring you back here. Others wanted, and still want, to bring you back and get some of your tech."
"And what did you go for?"
"None of the above… Aridike."

The BARON, who was looking down for most of the Turaga's speech, sat straight up, eyes wide in anger, fear, confusion, and a strange sense of hope, but mostly anger. That name, that word, that simple utterance struck the BARON down like the Peace Maker. But this time, the BARON could strike back.

He tackled the Turaga with his left arm and pinned him to the wall. He came close to his face and spoke to him through clenched teeth.

"Listen here, Turaga, I know that you know something. Something about my life, or at least my previous one. The real reason I came out last night was not to protect my property, it was to come for you."

He spit his words out at the Turaga, but no fear was in his eyes. There was even a smile on his lips. The BARON tightened his grip.

"Now, tell me what you know! NOW!"
"Not much to be honest. You always were the smart one."
"This tells me nothing. What do you know about my past! TELL ME."
"You really can't figure it out? After all these years? I will tell you one thing, Aridike. I survived."

Scarred and broken, a tall silver figure and a sleepy looking matoran staggered out of the lake into the outskirts of Carekik.
Bokor saw the orange glow from the tall figure's armour, who stumbled. Thuragn got to his feet ands approached her.

“It’s been a long time friend”.

"But...But...You...I saw...that thing..." The BARON was breathing heavily, his eyes darted to and fro, and his mind raced with questions.

He got a hold of himself.
*Deep breath*
He looked straight into his great, old friend's eyes with, for the first time that he could remember, a smile on his face.

"I know you have questions. Please, ask a way."

*Kirset, still your old self I see.*
"Well, how did you survive? The Fire Entity Dragged you into that pit. How could you have beaten it?"

"I didn't. The fire back then was not actually caused by the Fire Entity that escaped. It is actually that creature that helped me live.

The Fire Entity had a kind heart. He saw the falling rocks at the top of the cliff and knew I would die, whereas the cave that was unbeknowest to either of us at the bottom of the cliff would provide safety."

"It was right. It was one of those rocks that, well, did this."
He mentioned to his left and robotic arm.
"Now I KNOW you have at least a few questions about me."
They both laughed a bit, just like they used to before.

((I can't wait to make this into a MOC, the cave idea just came to mind. Hey Kai! I'm thinking about some back and forth question-answering; until Gringat's 'IT' happens :D))

"I asked my question first," the BARON said with good humor.

Kirset chuckled. "Okay, but it's a long story, I'll cut to the chase; I know you like it that way.

I was on a faraway island. There was great trouble there, so I left."

"Wow. If we're going to use language THAT vague, I could say the same thing!"

They both burst into hearty laughter.

"Fine, I'll tell you the whole story..."

((I'm not sure about the floating island, maybe in the FAR FAR FAR future. Maybe we should continue with this idea later on in the story...))

((Absolutely. If we make another Island in the Sky, the Lords of Korrothis (heads up Gringat) will need some talking to. Also, there's the whole 'Baron of Crime' aka 'Wanted Criminal' aka 'Not good with Authority' thing we need to work on... Time is definitely a restriction XD. Anyway, BARON PASTNESS!!))

Kirset got comfortable as his friend started his story.

"Well my friend, I actually stayed in Onu-Metru for some time after the fire. There was a lot of reconstruction that needed to be done, and my talents for the mechanical were greatly needed. But I felt no joy." The BARON hung his head with the weight of the past.

"Honestly, I almost went insane. There was the whole lack-of-left-arm thing, the lack-of-best-friend thing, and the lack-of-job thing. Before my mind was completely wiped, I thought of what I needed to do. Well, wouldn't you know it that my mechanical arm broke as soon as I thought it. That gave me purpose.

"I spent years trying to fix, nay, perfect my arm. I finally came to a design I could live with. Of course, by then my widgets had all but dried up. I got into gang trouble. It wasn't pretty, the state I was in. They once tried to take my arm as the 'payment' they needed. That was their last mistake.

"They tried force and I fought back. Wiped them all out. What was left of them became MY gang. It all worked up from there. We worked as the largest smuggling operation on Metru-Nui. I decided that I would have to expand my empire. First the Northern Continent, then most of the surrounding islands. I became known far and wide in the underground. Money became no object."

"I came to this island quite a few years back. The geography, location, and demographics make this a perfect place for a massive hideout. In fact, the South Gate isn't far from here."

Kirset stepped in. "What about your current clothing. How did you get that technology?"

"Well, some of if I stole, not personally; essentially I have a secrete army amongst all the islands, but most of it is my own invention. My arm has made me famous for armor, and when people started making requests, I made them a suit of armor, and myself a better version.

"This little gem," he mentioned to his body, "is my Light Stealth Armor. With its light distortion field, it can almost become undetectable. Of course, thermal vision and other unconventional ways of seeing make it useless. That's why I made a better one!" He winked and gave a laugh to his friend, who apparently didn't find the humor.

The BARON stood up. "Oh, Kirset, you have no idea how…how...Utterly fantastic this is. To have a friend…Again." They both smiled.

"I know the feeling, Aridike."

"Please, you must come with me. To my hideout. There we can talk more, have a good meal." He started towards the door.

"As much as would love to, I have to decline."

The BARON stood wide eyed, “was it me who brought it? There was a Makuta lurking in that collar, I... I” Phirset cut him short “Don’t worry neither of us brought it, this evil has originated from the island itself. This land is so beautiful; I feel the need to protect it.” BARON gave a sigh of relief, “what can you do about this though?” “I don’t know yet, the evil exists within a very small amount of matoran here. I have only met a few, one being a thug at a small bar a couple of days ago; I cannot hear their thoughts or see through their eyes. This scares me.”

“Funny, I’ve always found those powers of yours scary” the two friends chuckled despite the seriousness of the situation, “anyway the reason I can’t go with you is because I have found another matoran in this village poisoned with evil. I must stay here and monitor him”...

Attempting to make it fly themselves would make the island break apart if they got anywhere close - and they aren't insanely rich and powerful like the Lords. Plus, Gringat kinda needs Lake Silgarn as a docking station every now and then...))

[Puhana + Petrov]
The toa took the rootbreads Thuragn gave her hungrily, Petrov doing the same. His metabolism had skyrocketed since his encounter in the Shadowcaverns, and he found himself devouring more than he thought physically possible for him. Puhana merely gave him a know-it-all look, and, silently, they headed for Carekik...

[Obsidiahk]
I flowed as a black cloud over the broken island, taking its features, auras, smells. Many matoran here were corrupt. Perhaps even moreso than that ingratiatingly useful BARON.
The island was filled with machinery. I descended upon lower Carekik to find a refuge - and found it. A dormant robot. Not exactly the best start, but better than nothing.
Red light flashed briefly from the eyes of the Enforcer, and then the night grew still again...

[Ilstrikarix]
A blast of angry froth issued forth from his tentaclewd mouth as he slammed his clawed fist onto the side of his throne, cracking the stone slightly. His multiple red eyes glowered at the quivering Ak-Matoran messenger before him.
Strange, alien tongues filled the air. [You let a surfacer use it!? Worthless slave! I shall flay you alive for your insolence!]
Another voice, quivering and fearful, replied. [I... I am sorry, my maste-]
[You will be sorry when I slowly remove every stinking peice of your body with my claws!]
[P-please master!] The matoran threw himself at the Ja'kat's taloned feet. [You are no longer of use to me Ifflex.] His foot came up and crushed the matoran's head, ending his life with a feeble hiss of air from his neck. Black blood seeped out onto the already bloodstained stones around the Ja'kat's feet.
[That surfacer cannot be allowed to live...]

“anyway the reason I can’t go with you is because I have found another matoran in this village poisoned with evil. I must stay here and monitor him”...

"Who is it?"

"A capable fellow named Vorso. He's a good handy man, but not a social fellow. I feel he is up to no good."

The BARON paced about, thinking of options.
"We could use the direct approach, just go up there and have a little chat with him."

"Actually, I was thinking-"

"So, he's awake."
Suddenly there was a figure at the door, leaning on the frame and staring towards the two of them.

((I think this group has been quiet for quite long enough))

[Ferrum] The matoran had begun to set up shop in the little village while he let the M 12 Peace Maker recharge. The Enforcer had been working diligently to build a shack all morning, but now seemed to have stalled, its normally green eyes, a dark pulsing red. He stood in front of it, waving a hand in front of its eyes, which it seemed to focus on before it stared directly at him. If looks could kill, he would have been ashes with the way the machine was glaring at him. The realization of what had happened to the Enforcer only struck him when he hit the ground 10 meters away.

((Gasp! Someone got the story going! I almost forgot about the IOT what with camp and whatnot.))

*Speak of Makuta…*

Standing in front of the door was, presumably, Vorso; made obvious by the tool belt around his waist and the fact that Kirset was looking troubled at his appearance. He was a stocky Motoran, brown and beige with a look of frustration on his face.

"Ah, Vorso. What brings you here?"

Vorso unfolded his arms and walked slowly to the center of the hut.

"Only a warning…"

Suddenly Vorso fell into spasms and twitches. His body contorted into a posture of the possessed (think "Exorcist"). He suddenly shook violently and stooped over. Then he looked up and Kirset gasped. His eyes were red. His teeth were bared and he began to let out a menacing guffaw.

"You know not with what you are dealing with." His voice was deeper and resonated with that as if it were being spoken from at the bottom of a well. The air became heavy. "There is NOTHING you can do."

The BARON was unimpressed. "Now that's quite enough; what was it, Obsidaki or something? Makuta from the Irenta? Point being; I know it's you."

Vorso's contorted face let out a crazed laugh and said in a lighter tone: "Oh you little FOOL! *lololololol* Me? Obsidiahk! *lololololololol*

"Aridike!" Kirset was frantic with words, "That is obviously not the same Makuta!"

((Pretty good I must say. Hey Gringat! I'm thinking that perhaps we could add a third deadly danger to the IOT, an invasion of Makuta that take over the Motoran and stuff!!!))

[Ferrum] The matoran rolled to his hands and knees, coughing. He looked up at the Makuta possessed machine, which stood looking over his new form. Ferrum began calculating his chances of making it to the Peace Maker before the Makuta decided which weapon it would have more fun with: the gas grenades, the duel stunners or its bare hands. They were slim. He ran for the Shed as the Duel stunner came to bare on him, firing. The bolts of dark energy tore at the ground behind him as he dove for the limited protection of the shed, rolling to his feet. He snatched the Peace Maker from its charger and pressed himself against the wall.

[The BARON]
The three were suddenly interrupted by a large explosion as the house beside them was torn to pieces from a blast of shadow, making the Motoran begin to panic. Vorso and his body's tenant didn't flinch, whilst the BARON and Kirset ran for the door to see what had gone wrong.

"It. Has. BEGUN." Vorso was staring at them with a maniacal grin on his face and a twitch in his eye. "HahahahahAHAHOHOHOAHAH-"

That is, until the BARON turned around and knocked him through the opposite wall of the hut.

"Alright, we GET it. Enough with the laughing."

[Phirset]
*Hmm, now that Aridike has Vorso and…that thing taken care of for now, I've got to see what is going on out there.*

The old Turaga closed his eyes and reopened them through the eyes of Virrok ((Quick Question, Kai: For grammar purposes, is Virrok its name or is it of the species Virrok?)) .

*Please fly over the village we are at.*

(The) Virrok took to the skies from its perch and flew high in the sky towards the village. He knew exactly where it was due to the billowing black smoke rising above the tree line.

[Phirset]
Phirset opened his eyes wide, breaking the psychic connection with a gasp of fear. He looked for Aridike, but found only Vorso's body twitching upon the floor, with the occasional electric shock flowing through him. He grabbed for his staff but found it missing. But it didn't matter.

"ARIDIKE! WHERE-!"

His question was answered as he looked upon the bed. There was a small device with a speaker and microphone yelling out his name.

"KKkerrzzZZ…Kirset…Kirset do you copy!"

"Aridike? Where are you!"

"First,*static* put this in your ear, then we can communicate."
Phirset did as he was told and the sound quality greatly improved.

*Much better, Aridike certainly has done a lot since our parting.*
"Okay now, Where are you Aridike?"

[BARON]
The BARON was running through the jungle as fast as he could.
*Come on, Come ON!*
The South Gate was only about a mile from the Village and the BARON was almost there. Suddenly a voice buzzed in his ear, Kirset's.

"So what exactly are you getting from your base?"

"Okay, remember your staff, the one that shoots concentrated light? Well, with a little adjustment to one of my weapons I have, I can make something similar to that but more powerful, which is why, sorry in advance, I had to take you staff."

"Oh, it's alright with me if it can help. Just, Hurry up."

"Already here," the BARON said with a smirk on his face.

[Obsidiakh/Enforcer]

I landed outside the building, curious. I could feel the prescence of my kin within, but could hear nothing. As such, I made sure to knock politely...
-
The wall next to Phirset and the BARON collapsed into a shower of rubble as the machine raked an arm through it. Red, malevolent eyes glared at them.

"You two again." He snatched the Po-matoran from the bed, scanning him, before casting him aside onto the rubble pile. "Tell me what you have done with my kin."

"Well, if you're talking about Vorso, I gave him an electric shock as to induce temporary paralysis. As to your 'kin,' all I've done is XXXX him off."

The machine was obviously not pleased by the BARON's attitude. It raised its hand for a blast of shadow but the BARON cut it off.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I wouldn't do that," the BARON lightly sang as he pulled out a small device, similar to an electric razor, but with what appeared to be Kirset's staff attached. The machine flinched slightly at its sight.

"Ohh, you remember Kirset's staff. See, this little device here amplifies and concentrates the light shot from here to remarkable power." As the BARON was telling the Enforcer/Makuta about his weapon of demise, he was waiting for the supports in the small hut to fall. And then they did. "And, it's run on solar energy," the BARON smirked as the radiant sun shone down.

[Ferrum] The matoran was tired from all the accursed fighting that went on here. His legs were in bad shape from the Irenta bear, he had been smashed into a tree when the Makuta took control of it. And now there was a massive dent in his chest plate from where the Makuta possessed bot had struck him. He continued to run towards where he had seen it coming down, cursing and coughing as he ran. He had installed fail safes for this kind of thing, Dxxn it. Why didn't they work?

The BARON blinked out of sight with a small bleep. Vorso was stunned at this, but Obsidiahk was not impressed.

"I remember that little trick of yours, but it won't help. In this body I have the tools to see you with," he said as the Enforcer's eyes widened and started to view thermal images…Specifically of the BARON's device three centimeters from his head.

Obsidiakh laughed - a dark, thunderous and chilling sound like the slamming of tomb doors. "You know full well why I am here, foolish matoran. You brought me here years ago thinking to use my essence to control rahi. Rahi! Of course my essence controlled it! I created the first Irenta many thousands of years ago! Of course, it took a while before you actually did release me, but you did, and now look where we are."
The chainsaw continued to run in his hand, his eyes glowing a shadowy crimson.
"You had me stolen from Odina and brought to your little petty criminal base here. Stolen from the very Order that keeps you people safe from the likes of us ((Remember that Obsidiakh only knows about the Order because he was captured by them. They kept secret until the Order-Brotherhood war)) - how does that make you feel? You are responsible for the death and destruction I have caused here, the lives lost. And let me tell you, I have -NO- intention of stopping."

The NX14's head turned to face Vorso.
"As for YOU, tell me who you are now if you wish to avoid a whole world of pain."

Vorso, now focusing his attention on the Makuta, started his monologue.

"My name is Kaaristin. I am loyal to the First Brotherhood, and Master Miserex. After Miserix escaped, he spread around a message of reconstructing the First Brotherhood to several Makuta, myself included."

Obsidiahk cut in, "And exactly what is your purpose here?" The machine loomed further, intrigued. The chainsaw stopped running.

"I believe Teridax and the others are traitors. You and Teridax! You betrayed Master Miserix! You ruined everything! Making Mata-Nui Fall asleep! Making us into evil rulers, hated by all!"

The Machine rebutted, "I am no lackey of Teridax, Kaaristin. I thought all of you knew what happened to -me- when that divide occurred."

"I don't," Vorso's voice snapped. "I never had ANY desire to hear anything from the halls of Teridax after that day...!"

Vorso was getting quite worked up from his speech, his shadow powers forming a dark cast around his body as his anger towards "The Makuta" waxed.

Obsidiakh's mechanical buzz filled the air again. "You were lucky, Kaaristin. So lucky it makes me feel sick to even be in the room with you. Where have you been all this time, while I was right at the heart of Teridax's torture!? Keeping nice and fresh in a sunny island in the south? Making a couple of cute and cuddly rahi to keep you company? My essence was ~Ripped Apart~ every day by Teridax's torture devices, left to reform. I was little more than a metal ball when I escaped, unable to acess my powers or even SEE!"
The chainsaw cracked into life again. "If it wasn't for THIS insolent whelp, I would have dissipated by now!" he stamped, sending Aridike and Phirset flying. "How DARE you accuse me of defying Miserix, Kaaristin! YOU KNOW NOTHING OF IT! RRARGH!"

The NX14's cannons fired simultaneously, hitting Vorso in the chest and blasing out a wall of the hut behind him. It leapt through the roof, landing on Vorso afterwards and bringing the chainsaw close to his neck. Wisps of shadow covered the machine, and spikes grew along it in Obsidiahk's anger.

((I'm not sure the matoran actually -have- movies, but, w/e :P ))

A blast of heavy, unbreathable air swept through the crash site. The flames died down, leaving Petrov patting at his front and cursing. With a thump, Puhana's silver boots landed in front of them, kicking up a small cloud of dust. He sword rose and pointed at Firno, glowing. Her sphere launcher rotated and aimed at Gravak at the same time.

[BARON]
"Well, that grew just a little bit out of hand...wouldn't you say so Kirset? Kirset...huh?"

[Phirset]
The clouds were beautiful today. At least, they were if you looked away from the billowing smoke engulfing the southern sky.

The Makuta were causing havoc; Vorso had already given up and appeared to merely defend himself and bargain with the terrifying machine at the same time, a difficult task considering. The villagers had all but fled, except for a few brandishing weapons.

Suddenly there was a squawk. Virrok was getting tired of carrying his master above the battleground.

"Alright old friend, I'm almost done. I just need to find that one Toa I know is here...Somewhere..."

[Puhana] She shook her head, lowering her weapons. The sphere in her launcher cracked out of existence. "You two are unbelievable. What are your names? Are you from this island?"

[Petrov] "And do I get an apology?" he said, bitterly.

---

The ground shook again, and the NX14 toppled backwards into a shop window, parking, before lunging forward with the chainsaw in hand to take a swipe at Vorso, missing the matoran by an inch. Vorso ducked between the machine's legs and fired a bolt of shadow into its chassis, which did nothing. The NX14 returned this with a burst of lazer vision, poorly aimed, which vapourised a nearby statue of Lord Gringat. The Airlord's crowned marble head then sailed towards Vorso, hitting him hard in the chest and flattening him hard against the ground.

[Obsidiakh] The metallic voice of the NX14 growled again: "Pathetic! A Skakdi's FART could fight me better than you!" Obsidiakh used his gravity powers to make the statue's head grow heavier, crushing the posessed Vorso further and further. There was a sickening cracking sound, and then the statue head turned into a cloud of dust. Vorso leapt up, broken, and made a sweeping motion with his hands, causing a large amount of metal plating to be ripped off the robot, which thudded into a wall to its right, before dissapearing into thin air.

[Obsidiakh] "Camouflaging now, are we? I can still see you!" He swung his arm around in an arc, connecting with Vorso's skull, even though the matoran was impossibly far for him to have reached. Obsidiakh teleported behind the reeling Vorso and then grabbed him, forcing a spike of protodermis through his back.
A horrendous screech suddenly echoed from Vorso's mouth, which could be heard across the entire island. Some matoran nearby fell unconscious, windows shattered, and rahi fled. The NX14 fell back and collapsed, and Vorso quickly leapt off the spike and shot the machine with lightning, frying its circuits.

Greenish gas leaked from his wound, which closed quickly. Smoke rose from the inactive NX14...

[Kaaristin] "A coward am I? At least I am not so weak as you-!" A shadow hand caught him in mid speech and threw him into the side of another building...

---

[Petrov] The matoran suddenly reeled, and fainted as the sound of an inhuman, blood-curdling screech echoed across the island. Puhana froze, suddenly looking very alert. She picked up Petrov and put him over her shoulder. "You, Ba-Matoran ((Gravity matoran)), stay here." She ran off towards where the sound had come. Smoke was rising from the horizon.

((BARON, if you make Phirset and The BARON run into Puhana, that would be great. She's heading their way. And Also, if you can continue the fight between the two makuta, that would be great too. They'll fight for ages without being able to kill one another.

((Aaron, it's probably best if Gravik and Firno disobey Puhana and follow her anyway - that would be fairly typical for them to do. ))

((Actually, Gringat, only Phirset/Kirset went out to find Puhana, the BARON is still at the fight.))

[BARON]
*Mata Nui XXXX it, where has he gone.*

The BARON looked to the sky, thinking perhaps Kirset was riding his Virrok. Big mistake.

Obsidiahk 's beaten up body was thrown in his general direction and gave him a good thawack to the torso. The two crashed into a nearby hut. Obsidiahk, who had finished fixing the mechanics of his armor, had taken little damage from his fall and hit the ground on his feet while the BARON was left stunned for a moment.

"HA! Let's see how you like this!" Vorso roared as he launched himself at Obsidiahk at high speeds.

The two contacted with Vorso's knee in Obsidiahk's face, then Vorso kicked out sending Obsidiahk back, but not out. Obsidiahk came back using the NX14's shoulder mounted lasers causing Vorso to bring his arms up in defense.

Then Obsidiahk grabbed his face and plunged his head into the ground while using his gravity powers to crush him further.

The BARON had sufficiently recovered from his slight crushing, rubbing his head.

"Ugh, where ever Kirset is, He picked a good time to leave."

[Phirset]
((Idea: How about Phirset was a member of the same Toa team as Puhana? Eh? Eh? :D!))
"There she is! Set me down yonder."

The Virrok flew low to the ground and Phirset jumped down near the Toa of Neon, who was ever so slightly surprised.

"Phir…Phirset? What are you doing here? What's going on?"

The Turaga was rushing. "There's no time to explain. There are two Makuta fighting over there," he pointed at the cloud of smoke. "I fear for the Matoran who might be in danger if they are not stopped."

Two more Matoran came running after her.

"Makuta what!?!" one of them said.

((Okay, so Aaron's characters are with Kai's now. Good good.))

[Obsidiakh]
A vast cloud of insects closed around the area, blinding out the suns' ((There are two "suns" in the MU remember)) light. Ash locusts, firegnats, Nui Rama - everything. Stingers, blades and darts fired into Obsidiakh, who was forged to combat the onrushing cloud. Lightning shot from his fingers and there was a spraying of entrails and shells as the insects' bodies exploded under the voltage. Vorso sailed up on a pair of shadowy wings at the back of this cloud, and deilvered a swift punch to the NX14's ocular lens.

[Puhana] Above the din, she shouted to Phirset: "I'LL TRY AND DELAY THEM!" She raised a hand to protect herself against the vast cloud of insects that were suddenly swarming around them. It was as if they were trapped in a vast, swirling dome of buzzing wings and noise. Firno and Gravik were wide-eyed and fearful.

[Petrov] The De-Matoran woke with a start to find himself surrounded by a vast, multi-species swarm. There was a shattering thump in the distance as Vorso was thrown bodily into another building from mid-air and electrocuted. Pain coursed through Petrov's skull as he jumped down from Puhana's shoulder. It was becoming unbearable...

[Puhana] Raising her sword, which shone, Puhana charged forth, cutting a swathe through the insects. After twenty yards she was lost from view.

[Petrov] *Must... cannot... concentrate...* He shuddered, suddenly, the pain becomeing worse, and then, suddenly, he screamed.

[Obsidiakh] Karristin stopped mid-swing at the sound of Petrov's sonic scream - as if sixty-thousand talons were scraping across sixty-thousand blackboards. The insects fled in all directions, a half-dead Nui Rama being the last to manage to limp back. The ground was littered with guts and corpses, revealing Puhana pointing her sword at Vorso, her teeth gritted.

[Puhana] "Tell me why you are here, Makuta." Her sphere launcher swung around and pointed at the NX14, and her sword flashed menacingly, as if promising that it could get much brighter if it wished...

"Hey! Watch it." Turaga Phirset cried as he was forced to dive behind a large tree to avoid the fire of pistols and plasma. *I can tell that these two hot heads are going to be a pain* He thought while trying to keep his cool, Phirset didn’t lose his temper often but the unexpected mass-firing could have ended badly. “Mata-Nui, what am I going to do with you two… I’ve just met you and you’ve both nearly had my limbs blasted off!”.

“Oh, were sorry” Gravik and Firno both said in perfect synchronisation, “but, hey, it worked, didn’t it?” said Gravik a little sheepishly, not liking the knowing look in Phirset’s eyes. “You’re just lucky you didn’t kill more people than you did insects…” half replied Phirset as he turned to Aridike, asking ‘what have I missed’ without saying a word. The BARON and Turaga Phirset both turned to Puhana who was still questioning Obsidiakh…

((Again I’m really sorry for not writing anything in ages, it kind of slipped my mind. I’ll try to be more active from now on. And a huge thanks to everyone who wrote for my character Phirset (Gringat and Baron I’m looking at you) while I was ‘gone’. ;) Can’t wait to see how we deal with this Makuta!))

[BARON]
The BARON was still picking insect guts out of his armor when the tall, strange looking Matoran asked him this question.

He sighed, "Ugh, The Antidermis in the collar was supposed to be neutralized. A friend of mine found that under the proper circumstances, Antidermis, along with other drugs, can make usually wild Rahi easy to tame. Obviously, this batch that came in wasn't completely rid of sentience."

The Machine was suddenly angered by the BARON's words. "You speak of my lifeblood so casually!! Even I would not experiment on your worthless race!"

Obsidiahk tried to charge him, but Puhana dashed in front of him and applied her sword directly below his chin. "One more step, Makuta…"

The BARON continued, "As for the other, he says he is still loyal to Miserix, the first Brotherhood leader."

"That is right. We, the First Brotherhood, have only the goal of revenge upon Teridax and his brood. Which reminds me," he looked to Obsidiahk, still at Puhana's sword, "You should join our cause."

"And that is exactly why you could help us. Think of it, with him gone, we can regain our prior power, where we were respected, not feared and hated. Come with us," He hesitated, "...Brother."

Obsidiakh stared at Vorso for quite some time, and then the NX14 gave the slightest of nods. There was a crackle like burning tin, and suddenly it toppled to the ground. Vorso did the same, as two great shadowy clouds billowed suddenly above them. With a flash and a thunderclap, both clouds vanished. The Makuta had gone - where to, the matoran didn't know.

Puhana rushed to Vorso's side and studies his flickering heartlight. The battle had taken its toll on his bedy, even though Kaaristin's energy had shielded him. She hefted Vorso onto her shoulders and stood up. She looked to the matoran around her.
"I shall take him somewhere safe," she said. "The Matoran Kyrrah lives near here. She is good with medicines." And with a nod, she plodded off in a northwards direction. Petrov stayed behind, glaring at Firno and Gravik.

[Petrov] "Is this normal, for you two?" He said, strutting towards them. "Do you 'normally' try to make things even WORSE than they have to be!? I'm surprised Toa Puhana didn't hit you with that sword when you tried to take it from her..." He looked at the phoenix rahi. "Um... what are you doing?"

Petrov, do you know if there are any large cities or villages around that could help?” “I’m sorry, no; I’ve only been on this island for a short amount of time. That’s a question for Puhana” replies Petrov as he kicks a couple of still-living insects off his foot. “I thought that might be the case”…

[BARON]

"You know," the BARON started, deep in thought, "Actually, I think these Makuta aren't neccisarily evil."

"What?!" exclaimed Petrov.
"Makuta are all evil!"

"No," the BARON rebutled, "Teridix is evil. Don't you remember what that one said. He was talking about 'regaining their former respect.' I actually think we should help them."

((Clever idea:
"BARON sides with Makuta, but the others side against them. Plot becomes as thick as pea soup."
Well, what do ya think?))

((Guys, just so you know, the Makuta aren't the main antagonists in the story, or even main characters. Obsidiakh is purely meant to represent a morbid mistake on the part of the BARON, who is now almost villified by the locals. Watch out.

The main antagonists, and in fact much of the story, will be concerned with Garrathudrak - the subterranean city beneath the island... We have already seen its warlord king, Ilstrikarix.))

[Petrov] He looked around. ..."Puhana's gonna... be a while, isn't she? Look. I don't think the makuta really care that much about this place, I mean, what is it? Just a strip of sand left over after Gringat had his way with it. There's nothing important here. Why would megalomaniacs like them, evil or no, stick around here when they've 'just' left?"

It was here that Kirset piped in:
"Well, Aridike," (a glare from the BARON),"we could go to your hideout. As I hear it, you've got the Tech to find those Makuta."

Petrov stepped towards the Turaga, "Do you not see my point that they are long gone! Besides, we have bigger fish to fry, or should I say squid..."

Titanium: Ah, home sweet home, right buddy?
Oxan: Yeah, for you. You didn`t need to carry an exo-suit prototype that was made for a toa.
Titanium: You have a point.Hey look, it is Spike and Gringat.
Spike: Later Gringat. I need to help Oxan with the exo-suit.
Gringat: Bye!
Spike: So, how was it on Daxia?
Oxan: Ah, it was ok, I am just happy for that Axonn had time to be the model.
Titanium: If some of Ferrum`s people see this tell Gringat that we need to hide the suit in his shop, ok?
Spike: Ok.

Note: All this happens on the harbour on Poliaz. If you wonder about something make a respons to this.

Oxan dreams about the day he come back to Poliaz.
???: Wake up Oxan!
Oxan: WHAT!Is the ship sinking!?!
Titanium: No, but do you remember where the suit is?
Oxan: It is on the other side of the boat.
Titanium runs to the other side of the boat and back.
Titanium: It is not there.
Oxan: What, I don`t belive you.
Titanium: Go and check self then.
On the other side of the boat.
Oxan: You didn`t lie when you said that it was gone.
Titanium: It must be Ferrum.
Oxan:You must have right.

“That’s a question for Aridike…”

[BARON]

"Yes, yes it is. And I cannot."

Phirset turned, stunned, "What? But, Aridike? We're going to need the right equipment to take down these... What were they?"

The BARON laughed a little, then grew serious, "Kirset, you must understand. I am not the same person you once know. I am a crimelord. Perhaps THE crimelord, around here at least. Secrecy is key. Meaning, letting a bunch of Toa, whatever he is, and two hyperactive little whelps in my hideout is not an option!"

His voice grew to a cressendo at the end, and his eyes were wide in emphasis.

[Phirset]

“Yes, yes I know Petrov. But you wouldn’t know how hard this is for me, just letting a couple of Makuta run free in what use to be a safe place. It reminds me too much of what happened to my motherland…” replied Phirset with a mixture of sadness and frustration in his voice.

BARON jumped in to help the situation “Trust me Phirset; I understand how you feel more than anyone else here. I released one of those things into this place after all, but you know as well as I do that Ilstrikarix is a much bigger problem than a couple of Makuta.”

A short but awkward silence settled over the group… “So, Phirset. You said something about a hideout of some sort. Whereabouts is it?” Petrov said quietly, trying to break the silence.

“That’s a question for Aridike…”

((I’m not sure if the group knows who Ilstrikarix is yet, I can always change what they say afterwards if they don’t))

((Phirset and the other non-native Matoran would not know about Ilstrikarix. Puhana, Petrov and Aridike do though. He has never attacked, but stories from interrogated Ak-Matoran all give the same story. Note that the Ak-Matoran are ALSO enemies of the surfacers. There are at least three sides here.))

An angry blast of sonics echoed behind the BARON as this last sentence left his mouth. The last flames dying off on his burned armour, the furious Petrov had proceeded to knock Gravik down with his powers, winded, and was making a move for Firno complete with inarticulate cursing. A large jagged rock was grasped in both hands.

(As I said, Gravik is in the forest)
[Gravik] I found one! I found a miraluka! But this was a small one, only 30 feet in height, but it will do. It did not attack, as i fed it a large chunk of meat from my backpack. After about.... 30 minutes, I had tamed it, and went to show it to Firno.....
"PETROV, I FOUND ONE!!!" I screamed, as Brikolo, my miraluka, screeched, and ripped off an acre's worth of trees, I think I hit Petrov, the Baron and Phirset with a tree.... whatever.
[Firno] Gravik found a land beast, and a small one compared to the average ones, oh well, I think we're gonna feel at home.....

Kirset rushed between the two to stop the inevitable fight. Petrov dropped the rock, only to have a hand to shove Kirset out of the way, onto the ground.
A blast of light shot close to Petrov's head.
The BARON, who still held Kirset's enhanced staff and was pointing it at Petrov's head, gave a harsh glare.
"Now that is ENOUGH. And you two,"

He quickly snagged the two off their respective beasts-of-burden by their shoulder armor (Equivalent to the back of shirt) and bashed their heads together, dropping them to the ground.

"Now it's about time for you two to stop being a pain in my and everyone else's XXX," He loomed closer, glaring intently. "Got that."
He turned back to Kirset.

Gravik: "…Bu-"
Before his next syllable, the BARON had whipped around in a swooping motion, unlocked his blade, and picked Gravik up by his chest-armor and applied his blade to Gravik's neck.
"I'm sorry, what was that?"
Firno, in an attempt to help his friend, reached for his weapon. The BARON glanced at him, laughed and threw Gravik on top of him.
"Best not to anger your superiors," the BARON sharply said.

He sheathed his blade and left the two to whimper a bit. He walked back to Kirset and Petrov, who were merely spectators at this little exhibition of the BARON's anger.

((Maybe THAT can get the story going, even without Gringat. I felt that Firno and Gravik were just slowing down the plot, sorry Akara. Just don't get them so rowdy, from now on. Like, for reals. Just let them whimper for a bit.))

((Hurrah! I was wondering what to do about this. Akara I'm gonna ahve to ask you to make your characters less random, okay? Otherwise they'll get killed off or I'll have to ban you or something equally nasty. That sort of behaviour on real RP games does get boots and bans and stuff, just so you know. Not exactly rulebreaking, but it does break the flow of the story.

If they're going to be random, at least let them get penalised for it by the other characters, or let them calm down a bit. Which you have done. Heheh.

I have no clue what's going on now. ))

A silver figure emerged opn the horizon, eventually catching up with the assembled matoran.

[Puhana] "Vorso is with the healer now. She is... unsure, whether she can help or not, but she is doing all she can for him." She looked to the BARON, Phirset, and the other three. "You all seem shattered by this. Come and rest - the inn is full at present but I'm sure there's room for you all in my home. It 'is' meant for four toa my size, after all."

((Why do I get the feeling there are only like three people writing this whole story? Aheu..(Sorry that was Latin..)))

[BARON]

The BARON, who had already begun to turn to the Forest of Thorns in the general direction of his hideout, turned back to the group and folded his arms in impatience.
"Didn't I already explain to you lot that I (emphasis) didn't make the collar that started all these shenanigans, a friend of mine did.
"And, trust me, this is the first time THAT'S ever happened," he mentioned to the destroyed village behind him.

Puhana was not satisfied, "And how exactly do you expect us to trust you on your return?"

"Hmm, good question," he turned to the side slightly, gesticulating with each word, "I am the Crime Lord on this and several other islands, known for treachery, deception etcetera, but, and Phirset can vouch on this," he returned his gaze to the group, " I like to have fun."
He flashed a cheesy smile.

((Eheu: An expression of "Alas" or "Tis a Shame"

[BARON]

The BARON was running and jumping through the trees with excitement. He hadn't had this much fun in quite a while. True, he was sore as an overturned Hoi, ((Hoi are turtles. Just a phrase I thought of :D)) but the excitment of the last last two days was fun, to say the least.

The BARON approached his hideout, disabled the defense systems (which included saying hello to a giant Snake rahi), and ran inside to change and charge.

---

A few hours later, he came out of his hideout, refreshed in his Basic Armor, carrying a pack of weapons and supplies in one hand, a mapping device (think GPS) in the other, heading in the general direction of Puhanas residence.

((Two things; first the story-relevant item: The time shift there can be any amount, I put a few hours, but that can be changed depending on what happens at Puhanas.

Second, I have recently started on a big project that outlines the whole story of the BARON, and so far, it's turned out quite awesome. :D I only have the beggining and the end(ish), leaving the IOT events as the middle. I'm hoping to get it up eventually, along with the upgrades to the BARON.))

((First off I apologise for the break - hit hard by coursework and a second wave of exams for one thing, lost faith in the IOT for another.

Xalos is never general, and, at this point in time, is currently the Korrothean Icelord. Vanembar would be the one ordering people around.
