Quoting Dave and John Xandegar
As we posted in the "PRIZES" thread, John and I must graciously decline our nomination, and ask that the Klingon Warrior be removed from consideration. Now that the Lego Group has stepped in to make this a better event for ALL, we don't want to spoil anything for any of the rest of you.
As a rule, any Lego sponsored competition usually requires the creations to be made entirely of Lego products, and not physically altered to a task. K'toth, Son of B'rik, Klingon Warrior, is a beautiful MOC to be sure...but obviously contains pieces that are cut, painted, and many Silver elements manufactured by Mega Brands. We therefore respectfully ask to be removed from consideration, so that these issues will not have ramifications for the rest of you. We Love you all, and the constant support you show us is more than enough reward. We also apologize for any inconvenience our request will cause.
While I see where you're coming from, I'm going to have to disagree. My contact at Lego is donating the prizes to ME and it's my discression as to who gets them. It doesn't matter that there are altered bricks and pieces in your mocs, they're still, at their heart, Lego creations and were posted here on MOCpages. Altered or not, they're still Lego. There won't be any ramifications if you should happen to win. If you're still uncomfortable about accepting a prize should your moc win, you will still receive the "title" as it were of winner in your category and we can simply donate your prize to the charity auction at BrickWorld (I'll pretty much know by then who the winners are) so you won't have to accept the prize.
These awards are for the builders of MOCpages and you, my dear friend, are a member of this community and therefore eligable to win, regardless of customization. Do you think we'd turn Nnenn down if he were nominated?
As of now, you're still in as far as I'm concerned. If you want to discuss this further, email me and we can argue back and forth about how awesome you are and how much you deserve this!
