Can we enter things we have been working on, or do we just have to enter things built the day the contest 'officially' starts?

Sheesh, he's already answered that question at least once!

What if someone CAN actually build well AND fast?

Like me? Hahaha.

Your opinion on certain photo effects that enhance the MOC. For example, clearing the backgrounds, sharpening the image, clearing up blemishes, etc.

He already answered that. He said it's fine, but they will only judge on the build, not computer skills.

I already asked this question in the other thread, but it had never been answered.

About the rating system, are the judges gonna talk together and decide the final rating for each moc? or does each moc get an individual score from each judge?

Actually, that doesn't answer my question.

I asked if we can post something we have been working on, not posted.

Like, if I was working on a SHIP for a month, could I use it as an entry if I haven't posted it before, or are entries only qualified if they are started on the day the contest starts?

Make sense?

Phip already answered...He said only builds started after the contest commences. So, your SHIP would be disqualified.

Alright, thanks.

The SHIP was hypothetical, btw.

I did already answer the question. Here's the cut and paste of it to save time on searching...

Also, regarding posting old mocs... can I use a vehicle posted earlier in a completely new diorama?

I still haven't figured out why this concept is so hard to grasp and why people feel the need to cheat themselves out of a great competition.

Nothing that you have posted before or that is sitting in your house that you have not yet posted but built can be used for the competition. Period.

I know you're on the honor system for things that are built but not posted, but seriously people... build FOR the contest, that's what it's all about. If you post something from before then really... what's the point?

That's just my opinion on the matter, it takes all the fun out of creation something NEW for the contest. Do your parents encourage you to cheat in other aspects of your life? Think about it...

Hope that clears it up.

Sorry I missed it last thread...

Each judge will give an individual score for each moc. The 5 scores will be added and that will be your score for the moc. If each judge gives you a 5 (HIGHLY unlikely. 5's will be RARE) your moc scores 25 points for your team!

Cool! Then there won't be as much of a problem with people being cheap and posting a-bunch of clone on a plate mocs. 16 to 1, is alot diferent than 4 to 1.

Ok, so, what if I started building it now for the competition, would that be allowed?

I tend to think not, it gives an unfair advantage, but then again, you guys have KeluseMacPhipson.

No.

For what category would you be building this moc for anyway? Riiiiight, no one knows what the categories will be (even I don't know, and I've already explained how and why I don't know earlier).

basically, just wait. No one likes a cheater (not calling you one mind you... but you get what I'm saying.)

Again, "clone on a plate" mocs are going to be laughed at by the judges and won't get ANY points. So yeah... no problem with those at all.

Everything he says is false.

He didn't email me, he did comment on one of my mocs though. I think it's time for me to set up a group where I can talk to people in private when needed... I'll call it "The Time Out Room"... prepare for an invite. While I don't doubt what you say, we do need to have fair hearing around here.

What do you mean by laughed at? Is it like when people comment on it and say "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA", or is it something else?

It means, mocs like that that have no real work put into them will not get any points. It's the judges decisions as to what to give points to and what not to. But don't worry, a builder's skill in past posts WILL be taken into consideration before a "no points" judgement is handed down.

No one brought this up before, but technically yes, you CAN have a team with no AFOLs. The original rule of "only two AFOLs per team" was meant to stop a team of 5 AFOLs banding together to lay waste to the unwashed masses.

Nope. Two max, but no minimum. As for need, probably better off without one.

What about two clones on a plate? I mean, it's a bigger effort, and if I make sure the plate is big enough, I could call it a dio?!

Just one last question that I don't believe was clarified in the rules, but I could be wrong and'll end up making an ar5e out of me, but...

All builders on one team build in the same category, correct? Or is it a mosh posh of one member builds this while another builds that?

The second one. All players build in different categories.

In addition to that, we're in the final stages of hashing out some addendums to the rules on this so there might be a "slight" tweak to how players choose their categories. We'll let you guys know IF there's any changes. If there's not, the rules stand as is.

Your statement above seems to contradict what you said here:

"If every player on the team wants to play in (category X) for their first choice, then we'll be getting 5 entries in category X from that team."

Ok, I don't want to be annoying, but I really don't want to do something wrong and then be kicked out of the group. So here's my question. Lets say two players on my team want to build Castle, are we both allowed to? or can only one person on each team build in Castle?

Don't sweat it too much guys, like I said above, we're in the process of ironing out the rules on how many team members can post per category and if they can build from the same one or if they all have to choose different ones.

It's all gotten pretty confusing on my side of things and I'm not entirely sure myself where it's going to end up.

Rest assured, there WILL be a revised edition of the rules posted in the VERY near future once myself and the judges have all come to an agreement on exactly how to do this.

I'm sorry if it seems a little confusing right now, just please give us a little time. The changes that we're talking about would make the team aspect of the game much more important to the dynamics of how the game is played.

Thanks for your patience.

As of right now, yes they are. I don't have any problems with them and I know Lee doesn't. I know some of the judges don't like them personally so even if they're allowed, your score may be lower from them based on their inclusion. But yes, unless you hear otherwise in the final rules update post, they're allowed.
