View all 2
This is the first annual Klay Kontest!
Vignette- Make a vignette of anything you want! 4-31 studs wide.
Diorama- Same rules as the vignette, but it's 32+ studs wide!
Comic- Make a funny comic! Must be at least 15 pictures long. The bigger the better!
Prizes: A virtual trophy and an "I Like It" and comment on 5 MOCs of your choice.
Begins: Anytime I feel like it on May 1, 2010.
Ends: July 1, 2010 at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. Winners will be announced later that month.
Judges: Klay is the judge.
Judges will be judging design, execution, creativity, technique, presentation, and just plain coolness.
Theme - Do any theme, just please try to be unique. I mean, a Futuron MOC would be much cooler than a Star Wars MOC. Really. See below.
Creativity - Please be creative. I don't want "MI STARR WARZ BATTEL OF ENDORE VINGETT!!!!1!!!ONE!!!1". Something like "The Incident That Involved a Toaster and an iPod" would score high, because it's unique. How many Warthogs do we really need?
Purity - This one I just plain ripped from Shannon Young. Basically, BrickArms, BrickForge, Little Armory, etc. will be allowed, although you will get a lower score. BUT! Destroyed, excuse me, I mean CUSTOM clones will not be allowed. It's just not cool, man. Not cool.
Here are definitions of diorama and vignette for you guys
Vignette - Anything on a 31-stud or smaller base, is considered a vignette. In this contest, there is no height limit, and overhang is allowed to an extent. Also, bigger is not always better.
Diorama - Basically, a diorama is larger than a vignette. There is no limit on size, or action for that matter. A big flat baseplate with a few trees, minifigs, and maybe a [poorly built] house, will not be scored well. Also, I inserted "poorly built" because if you do that, it will be poorly built. I know it.
